The Rev. Jennene Laurinec
The Rev. Jennene Laurinec has been the Executive Director at Newgate Mission
in Longview since July 2009.
Newgate Mission was started in 1990 and is located at Mobberly and Cotton. The mission feeds the hungry - in mind, body and spirit. Serving the working poor, and the neighborhood as well as the homeless and transient populations, Newgate expects to serve over 60,000 meals this year. They also offer training, coordination with other agencies, clothing and household items, and personal assistance.
Jennene is an ordained Episcopal priest and also serves as the Vicar of St. John's Episcopal Church in Carthage, Texas. Prior to coming to Newgate, Rev. Laurinec was the Chaplain and Business Manager at Trinity Episcopal School in Marshall. Jennene served as a volunteer chaplain at Good Shepherd Medical Center for several years and facilitated a grief support group for Hospice in Marshall.
Rev. Laurinec is a graduate of LeTourneau University and the Iona School for ministry. Jennene has specialized training in conflict resolution and pastoral listening. She and her husband, Steve, moved to Longview in 1987 from Colorado. They have three grown daughters, Ann Ellison, Jennifer and Karen.
